Y2 work on sentence openers.

Check out the carefully constructed sentences written by a group of Y2 children.

They were writing sentences which open in range of ways - with phrases that give description or tell the reader where or how something is happening.

They then moved on to the challenge of writing sentences which open with a verb phrase.

Can you think of a sentence that starts with a verb? How would you punctuate your sentence?
